Michael Folickman's delicately painted creations capture the beauty and romanticism of scenes from around Israel, but especially from Jerusalem. His personal and professional roots are in the south of France, home to many landmarks of 20th century art.
Michael lives in Jerusalem but draws his inspiration from another Frenchman, Marc Chagall, and, like him, has the ability to transcend the obvious, physical dimensions of life. He penetrates situations to the level of imagination and spirit, capturing the very soul of a subject. All of this is combined with the developed skills of an accomplished artist, whose attention to detail is the secret to the high quality of the miniatures he creates.
Michael's creations are on sale in a few fine Judaica stores around Israel and his miniature lithographs are available also through this site.
Each miniature is framed in a gold frame under glass (as in the sample image above) and safely wrapped for shipping.
